I should have written this last week, at this point it’s already hard to remember everything! I’m not going to post a lot of my costume stuff in this particular entry; I’ll do that in the next one.
So we left bright and early monday morning – on time, even! We went down through Alabama this year instead of through Nashville, which Chase said was faster but I said was a whole lot more boring. Also, not as many places to stop and eat.
Got in around 4, checked in, and the lady at check in was able to combine our two reservations so we wouldn’t have to move (we had one for wednesday night, and the rest of the nights as a separate reservation). Then we ate at High Velocity and walked to the Hilton and then to the Hyatt, just to have a look.

Thursday we got on up and headed to prereg. We got in line on the far side of the Sheraton, around the block, but once it started we were through in about 45 minutes. nice! When they tried to scan chase’s postcard, tho, the system went down and remained down for a while LOL He got his badge and we got Ash checked into her Hyatt room, and went to Ikea for lunch & shopping. We FINALLY got a Detolf shelf after going to Ikea since 2007 looking for one.
Then we came back and had dinner in the food court, and then Chase brought K-9 downstairs.
K-9 was very popular!
Cath got in and it was very nearly the most we saw of her was that night. She was busy with Guest transportation all weekend.
Friday
Got up friday and got into Marie – went over to Hardy Ivy to take pics. Chase had another photoshoot there after mine, so Ash met me and her and I went back to the marriott for a few, then I put on red Ms Marvel so we could walk (or rather, shuffle through the crowd) in the dealer’s room and shop.
I changed into Black Widow for the Avengers shoot at 4, which was fun (though hot!!) and then had to scurry off to change into Lady Blackhawk for the Gotham shoot at 6.
Gotham was a great turn out though by that point I’d been wearing the same heels for several hours and my feet were killing me. We met up with my cousin and got pizza in the room for dinner. After dinner I put on Emma and Chase took K9 down again. We didn’t stay up very late, because I had to go roll my hair for Donna the next morning.
Saturday
Hair turned out pretty good after sleeping in curlers all night! Put on Donna and met up with Ash in the Hyatt lobby and trooped on down to the parade start.
I took pictures the entire parade route and regret nothing.

Then we went to the Doctor Who photoshoot, though we missed the big one at the Hilton steps, it just took too long to get K9 over there. (though we were very nearly at the Hilton steps when we were told they were already done!)
Had lunch and Chase had some incredibly nasty lemonade. Chase & I went up to the room to take a nap, but got a text from someone he wanted to do a photoshoot with and decided to run down and meet up with her, so I put on Hippolyta and he took some shots of me in that, too.
Changed into normal clothes and went and helped Chase carry his equipment for a photoshoot he was doing – after that we ran and just grabbed dinner in the food court and took it back up to the room, and watched the parade on dragoncon tv. That was one of my fav times of the con 🙂
Then I put on Valkyrie and we went back downstairs. Valkyrie was very unwieldy so I didn’t stay in it long, went back and put on red Ms Marvel again and Chase and I just wandered for a while.
Sunday got up and put on Enchantress for our Enchantress/Scarlet Witch photoshoot. That went pretty quick, and then I went and put on pink Rogue. I didn’t wear it long, as I’ll talk about in my next blog post, so I ended up wearing normal clothes most of the day.
Went back in the dealer’s room and bought some stuff, and had lunch. I was going to put on black Ms Marvel for our Stan Lee pic, but was feeling too lazy and just wore my X-Men shirt. Which is cool, because now I’ve worn that X-Men shirt while standing next to Stan Lee AND Patrick Stewart.
Then I put on TARDIS Marie Antoinette, K9 donned his dinner jacket and we went back downstairs for a while. THAT was fun.
After wearing that for a while, put on normal clothes again and headed to dinner at Benihana with everyone. That ended up being about a 4 hour long experience but the food was good, and we were sitting at the table next to Mark Sheppard.
Ashley and I spent the evening running around together – I was even wearing normal clothes and it was fun! LOL We even found Cath at one point, though she was still working.
The night ended with Cath falling down stairs, us not getting the text til an hour later (around 2am I think? LOL) and running over to the Hyatt to see if she was there in their room… she was there asleep and fine so we called it a night LOL
Monday we just bummed around the dealer’s room again, got our Stan Lee pic, and went to World of Coke.

And then we had dinner at High Velocity again, ran around the empty hotel for a while, then called it a night.
Tuesday morning we got up and went home… the end 🙂
